All other charges relating to payment will be absorbed by you. ​ Prices include GST. ​ All of our products are specially crafted, most pieces are made to order and will need to be pre-ordered as stated in the product page which takes around 4 - 12 weeks to complete. Delivery Goods will be dispatched within 3 working days once the product is completed. We ship all orders through registered, recorded delivery, and are happy to help with any urgent delivery requests. You must ensure that someone is present to accept delivery. We do not cover customs and duty payments for orders outside of Singapore. Goods are sent at our risk until signed for by you or by any other person at the address you have given to us. If any provision or portion of any provision of this Agreement shall be held to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, it is the intention of the parties that the remaining provisions or portions thereof shall constitute their agreement with respect to the subject matter hereof, and all such remaining provisions or portions thereof shall remain in full force and effect. Dispute resolution The formation, interpretation, and performance of this Agreement and any disputes arising out of it shall be governed by the substantive and procedural laws of Singapore without regard to its rules on conflicts or choice of law and, to the extent applicable, the laws of Singapore. The exclusive jurisdiction and venue for actions related to the subject matter hereof shall be the courts located in Singapore, and you hereby submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts. You hereby waive any right to a jury trial in any proceeding arising out of or related to this Agreement. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to this Agreement. Changes and amendments We reserve the right to modify this Agreement or its terms related to the Website and Services at any time at our discretion. When we do, we will post a notification on the main page of the Website. We may also provide notice to you in other ways at our discretion, such as through the contact information you have provided. An updated version of this Agreement will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Agreement unless otherwise specified. Your continued use of the Website and Services after the effective date of the revised Agreement (or such other act specified at that time) will constitute your consent to those changes. ORDERS AND SHIPPING All our orders above USD$1,500 come with complimentary shipping. For non-custom pieces, orders will be shipped out within 3 working days. You will be sent a notification and tracking number once your piece is ready and leaves the atelier. ​ In the case of a gift, let us know so we can include a gift card and send the invoice separately. Feel free to contact us here if you have any other queries or concerns. RETURNS POLICY Being a boutique jewellery atelier, we are not able to accept any change of mind returns. We hope that you are always delighted with your La Joie purchase, however in the unlikely instance that you receive your piece damaged please get in touch with us immediately. We will assess the damage and determine the next steps on a case by case basis. The piece being returned must not have been worn and in its original pristine condition. You will have to return the piece in all its original packaging via insured registered delivery, such as Fed Ex. The cost of the return will be borne by you and we will not be liable for any losses incurred during transit. ​ All custom and engraved pieces are strictly not eligible for returns. Any money refunded will be in the form of store credit and valid for 12 months. Store credit is not exchangeable for cash, non-extendable and must be used in a single transaction. PRODUCT CARES We strongly encourage you to treat your beloved La Joie pieces to a yearly spa. Having your jewellery professionally cleaned will ensure it retains its lustre and beauty for many years to come. Our La Joie professional spa will include cleaning and checking the gem, polishing of the gold, tightening of prongs and checking the integrity of the piece. Doing this yearly not only ensures a good-looking piece but also keeps your gems safe, snug and secure. ​ Depending on your piece, the La Joie Spa treatment ranges from $100 - $300. Get in touch with us to find out more. GEMSTONES CARE Most of our pieces will feature coloured gemstones, this will require more care and attention. Please refrain from using an ultra-sonic jewellery cleaner, this method can be abrasive on the gemstones and loosen the prongs. If you are doing any activities that might cause damage to the piece, such as sports, cooking or gardening, it would be best to keep your beloved piece in a safe place. Avoid exposing your pieces to hand lotion, creams, perfume and cleaning products. It is best practice to allow your moisturizers and creams to be fully absorbed into your skin before adorning your jewellery. For more porous and softer materials such as emeralds and pearls please send them to us for professional cleaning. These gems require special attention and most cleaning products will be too harsh on them. Do not use any form of heat on your piece. Even the heat from a hair dryer might affect the more delicate gems. When storing your jewellery, make sure that they are not touching to avoid the possibility of them scratching. Keep your softer gems such as emeralds and pearls separately to your harder gems like diamonds. ​ You may use our La Joie cleaning cloth or a micro-fibre cloth to wipe your pieces as part of your regular maintenance. If your piece starts looking a little dull, make a cleaning solution with some gentle hand soap or mild dish soap and warm water. Use a soft bristled toothbrush to gently clean the gem and its mounting. You may also buy jewellery cleaning liquid to use, likewise you would still need to lightly brush your piece. Always remember to rinse your pieces off with clean water afterwards. The soft bristles will help get into the small crevices and dimples that might have collected some dirt and grime. If you are worried about damaging your piece, come into the boutique for us to help you get your beloved piece professionally cleaned. The most important thing is for you to enjoy wearing your piece of jewellery, leave the maintenance and worry to us! ENGRAVING Whether you buy from one of our collections or choose to custom make, engraving is a great way to make your piece even more personal. We believe that jewellery is deeply individual – no matter if you are buying for yourself, receiving it as a gift or a treasured heirloom. Engraving helps us encapsulate and immortalise a moment or an emotion. Engraving services are available in a multitude of languages or characters. There might be limitations due to technical restrictions and canvas space, so get in touch with us if you are keen to explore engraving. BESPOKE FAQS Payment Terms For a custom piece, we will require 50% deposit and the other 50% upon showing you the final piece. Full payment must be made before collection or shipping. I want to make a bespoke engagement ring or wedding band. How far in advance should I reach out? It is best to give yourself at least 2 months lead time. Although we might not need the full 2 months to craft the wedding band or engagement ring, we want to make sure you have enough time to fully enjoy the designing process. International Shipping? International Shipping is complimentary for any piece above USD$1,500. However, any taxes incurred after leaving the port of Singapore will be borne by you. What are the metals that you work with? We work with 18K Gold in White, Rose and Yellow as well as Platinum. What will I receive? You will receive the piece of jewellery you have ordered in our signature La Joie blue box. Your purchase will also come with an in-house certificate and invoice. If you are ordering this as a gift, let us know and we can send the invoice to you separately. Engraving is a great way to further personalize a piece of jewellery or remember a moment to create an everlasting keepsake. Through the initial discussion we will determine your needs and agree on a concept, budget and timeline. Give us some time to come up with ideas and designs. We will then proceed to choose your gemstones and confirm the final design with you. Once we receive the initial payment, we will begin crafting your piece. When your new piece is ready to leave our atelier, you will be notified for either collection or delivery. Now all that is left is for your to enjoy your beautiful new custom creation! For our clients that are not in Singapore, we usually start with an initial video call. After the first consultation, we will work together with our designers to come up with ideas and source for appropriate gems. Throughout the process, you can choose to be as involved as you wish. We will provide photo and video updates and once the piece is done, it will be safely wrapped and sent to you via FedEx. How long does the piece take to make? Each piece is lovingly crafted and takes between 4 – 12 weeks depending on its complexity.
